Followed by announcements made by EA, Bethesda is kicking off with it’s own set of announcements. Here are some of the recap from the announcements.
1. Skyrim Special Edition
This is one of the most talked about game since there were leaked report suggesting a remastered Skyrim of some sort. I’m not really a fan of remasters since most of the games that released so far is not made with ancient technology.
Skyrim Special Edition will comes with new visual effects, including god-rays, new snow shaders, and more. Just like Fallout 4, the game will have support for PC mods.
2. Prey 2016
The next installment of the Prey series is back from the dead. Many fans of the original series saw the trailer for the following up game Prey 2 back in 2011 was very excited to get a new game.
The trailer showing above wasn’t exactly Prey 2, is a new Prey game for 2016 created by Arkane Studios which made Dishonored 2. Compared to the original Prey game, I must say the visuals are a huge step-up for the game. However, there aren’t any gameplay available yet.
3. Quake: Champions
iD Software’s studio director, Tim Willits went on stage and dropped the news “Yes, Quake is back.”
The trailer itself shows a different kind of warriors battling in an old-school arena combat zone. As the title suggests, you may think Quake is going to be a tournament type game and you’re somewhat right, but this is more targeted for players with all kinds of skill.
According to Willits, this is “A competitive arena-style first-person shooter for the PC designed for players of all skill levels. Whether you are new to Quake or have been fragging for the last 20 years, Quake Champions will give you the challenge and rush you’d expect from iD Software multiplayer games.”
4. Dishonored 2
Finally, we have some Dishonored 2 news. The game was mentioned quite a few times leading up to E3. Now we know the game will feature a new protagonist named Emily Kaldwin. Emily Kaldwin will have some sort of supernatural powers including:
- Domino, which links together human targets, forcing them to share the same fate. In the demo, Emily set a trap, then used Domino to take out multiple foes in one blow.
- Shadow Walk, which lets Emily sneak toward and incapacitate a target.
- Mesmerize, which enthralls several humans and/or hounds, allowing Emily to easily bypass or eliminate foes.
During the E3 confrence, Bethesda also announced the collector’s edition for Dishonored 2. It include the Digital Imperial Assassin’s Pack – which comes with exclusive bone charms, 500 coins to spend in-game and new lore and art.
The game is set to release on November 11 for PC, Xbox One & PS4.
