Nintendo Faces Lawsuit Over Detachable Switch Joy-Cons

Looks like someone might be in trouble. And it’s Nintendo? When Nintendo Switch released back in March, surely the design in terms of hybrid/gaming tablet isn’t the first in it’s kind. Tablets like Nvidia Shield & Gamevice’s Wikipad existed way before the Switch was even released.

Gamevice, known for it’s Wikipad is currently suing Nintendo for copying it’s removable controller design. You heard it right. According to the suit, the Switch and its removable Joy-Con controllers are too close to Gamevice’s vision of a combination of detachable game controller and a device with a “flexible bridge section.”

Currently Gamevice is seeking the court to ban the sales of Nintendo Switch and pay the damages from patent infringement.

However Nintendo did not speak out publicly as of yet.
