While I was browsing EB Games and JB Hi-Fi, I saw them promoting a new game called Concord for the PS5. I took a photos of it and study it when I get back home and turns out there is a Steam version of the game available.
Little did I know, the game ultimately floppy just after 2 weeks of it’s launch and the server has to be shutdown by the developer, Firewalk Studios.
There are so many live service games out there. Sony has missed the opportunity with Concord by failing to innovate and charged player for it.
What’s even bad is after I made my own talking points on the video, report has came out stating that game director Ryan Ellis has stepped down from his position at Firewalk Studios.
Sony even spent about $400 Million (USD) just for this game and 8 years of hard labor to be turned out like this.
Bungie is also launching a new game soon called Marathon reboot. Despite Concord’s flop, Sony is hoping to charge gamers $40 (USD) regardless. Just hope that it actually innovates to justify it’s price tag.
