Sony Might Be Bring More Games To PC

Sony has already published a few games on PC starting from HELLDIVERS since 2015 and followed by big titles like Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone just to name a few under the brand PlayStation Studios. We’ve already seen games like NLB being ported to Xbox as well under that brand. [Unrelated]. Other games like Heavy Rain, Detroit: Become Human also got it’s releases on PC by Quantic Dream. So looks like Sony is opening more of it’s first party games to PC fans whos eiger to play more playstation games.

When Days Gone was first announced for PC, Bend Studio tweeted this out:

Just like Xbox, Sony has already begin embracing the PC market which is one of the biggest market with Steam, GOG, Origin, uPlay, Epic Games Store and few others combined. No surprise that Sony wanted to do this as this will create a bigger player base ever.

We’re still early on in our planning for PC. And Horizon Zero Dawn has been very successful. I think it shows there’s an appetite from gamers outside the PlayStation ecosystem to experience the amazing portfolio of games that PlayStation fans have enjoyed for years, but I want to emphasize that PlayStation will remain the best place to play our PlayStation Studios titles at launch. But we do value PC gamers, and we’ll continue to look at the right times to launch each game. Bend Studio just released the PC version of Days Gone on May 18. So that’s about two years after the PS4 release.

PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst

Recently Sony acquired Nixxes, a company specializes in PC game porting. So far Nixxes ported games from Square Enix-published titles which includes Tomb Raider and other titles like Marvel’s Avengers and Deus Ex series as well. Even Hulst said in a statement that the studio has “a passion for improving games and for delivering the best possible experience for gamers”.

Previously Sony purchased Housemarque, a game studio known for titles like Resogun, Dead Nation, Alienation just to name a few. And looks like Sony might be bring even more games and have taken game polishing very serious and games like God of War, The Last of US “might” even ported to PC.
