When comes to fighting games, I am really a big fan of this genre. Having played Street Fight, King of Fighters and Mortal Kombat as a kid with friends, this was another moment where a “new” fighting game will be in my collection.
I remember picking Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on my 360 back when Persona game aren’t widely available elsewhere yet and PC wasn’t an option. Played for a bit and you know, this is one strange game was the they made a fighting game out of the main Persona series and I wasn’t expected lol. I have not played the main game, not sure how this “spinoff” tied into the main game.
Now having played all types of fighting games, I must say this is a little different compared to some of the other fighting games when comes to mechanics. If you come from a Tekken background for example, you would be able to grapple, slam and do outrages moves. This reminds me more of a BlazBlue styled game with cartoon looking characters.
Nevertheless, I’m still pretty excited for the game to arrive in March. This has been a long time since I played Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.
