After 4th of May, Yahoo Answers Will Cease To Exist

Remember sites like Answers.com? Google Groups? Quora? Yahoo Answers? Yeah, those were some of the places I used to interact with others and even asks a few questions. Now I mainly uses Quora. Don’t forget Stack Overflow (you’ll need to verified and I never bothered) and Reddit.

Yahoo Answers was released back in 2006 and was a platform where you can ask or answer questions. Even shows like GQ with their undercover Q&A have used Yahoo Answers for celebrities to answer to questions.

Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account.

I used to go on Yahoo Answers and answer a few technical questions, but I just somehow lost interest. Then I discovered Quora and everything just went from there. You can follow spaces on Quora and get Facebook styled feed for Q&As for people you follow or commonly answers questions. Where as Yahoo Answers you can only write so much and Quora just feels like if you are using Word. But sometimes Quora will have people writing an SA piece with no character limits. Nooooo.

Stack Overflow is another great resource site to get your question answered, but it uses a reputation system to get you verified and that’s why when you first join you can never go and answer questions which is lame so I gave up on answering questions oever there and why so many sites for each topic?

Reddit is probably the main one that most people you can use because is fun, interactive and people share thoughts or things they see on Internet or make memes go varial. You just can never get tired of it. And following your favorite subreddit as well.
